Hunger

“Charity sees the Need, Not the Cause, BUT Food isn’t just about Charity, it is about Justice, it is about the moral right of all those who are born into this World.”

While food is a luxury for those who have the means to have a decent three-course meal or try a different cuisine every time they sit down to eat, there are others who struggle to provide for their families and themselves and have no idea when & where their next meal will come from.

It is estimated that 1.1 billion people out of 6.1 billion people worldwide live in extreme poverty, making it the leading cause of “Hunger” in more than 110 countries.

India with home to 1.4 billion citizens, has a stellar reputation for its excellent agricultural practices and status as a food surplus country. However, despite our nation’s economic expansion and rising standard of life, millions of women and children still experience “hidden hunger.”

The Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO) of the UN released “The State of Food Security and Nutrition in the World, 2022 Report,” which states that “in India, undernourished people make up 16 per cent of the population, with 53% of women of reproductive age being anaemic.”

In a world where there is enough food for everyone, the main problem is not a lack of food production, but rather the lack of access to adequate food and a broken system for delivering and distributing food, which is pushing millions of people to starvation and sometimes malnutrition.

With all of these facts, figures, and just causes for why our brothers and sisters throughout the world are going to bed hungry, the question is: what are we doing about it? Are we going to be silent and go on with our lives like there aren’t those who are in need, who are weary and anxious.

We believe in SERVING all those in need with LOVE – no caste, no religion, no discrimination! We believe Love has hands to help others. It has the feet to hasten to the poor and needy. It has eyes to see misery and want. It has ears to hear the sigh & sorrows of men.

At Prophetess Priya Ministries, we believe that together with your love, empathy and kindness we can feed the hungry, relieve the yoke of those who are weary and burdened, and calm the fears of those who feel anxious about providing for their families in the days ahead.

We serve numerous families by providing them with RATION KITS that has basic food and diet items like: “Rice, Lentils & Pulses, Sugar, Wheat flour, Cooking oil, Tea Powder, 3 different Indian Spices, Salt, Onion, Potatoes & Eggs” along with basic sanitary and hygiene items like: “Toothpaste, Hair Oil, Body Wash/Soap, Cloth Detergents & Dish Soaps”.

And last but not the least we INVITE YOU TO LIVE LIFE TODAY WITH US and not just let it slide like how each day of your life just passes by, because you have not lived today until you have done something for someone who can’t repay you.

Because when you extend your soul to the hungry and satisfy an afflicted soul, your light shall dawn in the darkness and darkness shall be noon day. You will be like a well-watered garden and a spring whose waters never run out because the Almighty will always lead you, comfort your soul in times of adversity, and strengthen your bones in times of need.

We don’t need deep pockets and be rich to help the poor, the needy, the hungry. We just need to have a heart that yearns to serve.

If not a hundred families, today let’s just start with one!
